Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has started functioning from the year 1959 since the inception of the S.V. University College of Engineering and pioneered itself in catering the needs of the students, industry and in general the society.
The department is offering one graduation course B.E./B.Tech (EEE) and two Post graduation courses i.e. 1) Power systems (PS) and 2) Instrumentation and Control systems (ICS). The graduation programme is designed that will lay the firm foundation for the basic understanding of electrical engineering and also includes advanced curriculum which is essential for the students to meet the industrial needs and challenges at global level in this competitive world.
The department started B.E. Electrical Engineering UG (5- year) course in the year 1959 with an initial intake of 20 students. Later in 1979 B.Tech EEE (4-year) course has started with an intake of 30 students. In 2014 the intake has been increased to 60 students later on in 2019, the intake has increased to 66 students.
In 1971 the department has introduced Instrumentation & Control Systems (ICS) as a P.G. programme with an intake of 06 students later on in 1979 another P.G. programme has introduced Power System Operation and Control (PSOC) with an intake of 06 students later it is renamed as Power Systems (PS) with an intake of 24 students in 2011.
In 1975 the department has undertaken Research Programme based on the specialized area and continuously producing the Doctor of Philosophy Degrees (Ph.D). So far more than 100 Ph.D degrees has been awarded.
As per the UGC / AICTE / APSCHE guidelines the department is continuously updating the curriculum to meet the Industrial and Societal requirements.
