The department of Physical Education, which was established in the year 1955, is serving the student community of the University in general and the students community of the campus in particular by extending standard sports facilities.

The department has organized Inter-University Tournaments for almost all the Games including All India Inter-University Athletic Meet.

Facilities: The Department of Physical Education has the following sports infrastructure facilities:

• Two Flood-lit Tennis Courts
• Two Flood-lit Basketball Courts
• Three Volleyball Courts
• Two Ball Badminton Courts
• One Hockey Ground
• One Football Ground
• One Kho-Kho Court
• Two Kabaddi Courts
• One Handball Ground
• One Cricket Ground
• One 400 mts standard Clay Track
• One Indoor Gymnasium with Flood-light facility for Badminton (Wooden Flooring), Separate Hall for Multigym (16 stations) Weight-Lifting and Weight Training etc.
• Prakasam Recretation Hall to play Table Tennis, Chess, Carroms University authorities are making arrangements to modernize the Recreation Centre to serve the student community in a better way.

Athletic Association : Athletic Association, under the auspices of the Department of Physical Education carries out all activities of sports and games for active participation of both men and women students.  All the students of the University Campus Colleges are the members of the Athletic Association.

Tennis Club: Students joining the University Tennis Club have to pay a special annual fee as may be fixed from time to time.

The department will organize Sports festival for the student community probably in the month of November 2007.

Cash Awards: Cash Awards for Inter-University Place winners.

 Dr. L.K.Govindarajulu Memorial Cash Prize for the Individual Athletic Champion for Men & Women in S.V.University Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet.

 Fifteen Sports Merit Scholarships for Men & Women.
