Prof. Y.Rajendra Prasad joined as Principal at University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and serving the college from 01-12-2025.  Before this, he served in different capacities at Andhra University College of pharmaceutical Sciences, Visakhapatnam, before he become the Principal in 2020.

Professor Prasad contributed immensely to teaching, research and administration, spanning over a period of 30 years.  He successfully guided 91 students for Ph.D.,  published more than 150 papers in international journals of repute and executed projects sanctioned by Government of India worth 246 lakhs (Rupees Two hundred and forty six lakhs only).  As Principal at Andhra University, Professor Prasad organized several National, International seminars, workshops and served as Organizing Secretary for A.P. Science Congress held at Visakhapatnam in 2017.

Professor Rajendra Prasad received the life time achievement award in 2022 at VIT, Vellore, A.P. State best Teacher award in 2016, Dr.Sarvepalli  Radha Krishnan best academician award in 2016 and Andhra University best researcher award in 2014.

Professor Prasad was expert committee member in UPSC, New Dehli, and APPSC Amaravathi, besides member of selection committees of different universities in A.P., Telangana & West Bengal.

He served as faculty Chairman, Board of Studies and member board of studies in served A.P. Universities.
