Sri Venkateswara University was established in 1954 by great visionaries Late Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu who was the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Late Sri Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, Former President of India to cater to the educational aspirations of people of Rayalseema area. Today, after more than six decades, the University has established itself as a premier University catering to the educational aspirations of whole of South India.
Sri Venkateswara University was accredited with “A+” Grade by NAAC in 2017. The University was selected under Category-I graded autonomy status. It is one among the top 10 University in india by University Grants Commission.
This great institution has got a rich tradition and legacy. I accepted this responsibility with a deep sense of humility. My Vision is to transform this University into a world class Institution. The task ahead for us is too great for any individual to accomplish but together as a team we can achieve it.
Initiated polices for “Green Campus”, “Smart Campus” and “Digital University” as per the directions of the Government.
Earlier there were 32 degree colleges offering PG Courses and one institution on Advanced of Education. At present around 125 Degree Colleges, 6 Law Colleges, 36 B.Ed College, 4 M.Ed Colleges, One oriental College, one Music and Dance College. There are 10 B.PEd, M.PEd, DPEd, MEd Colleges.
PG and Professional Courses in various departments for NRI/PIO/FN/NRI sponsored students.
Integrated Degree Course MAM is converted into MBA. 3 year and 5 year LLB Courses.
Results are being declared on record time by new set of reforms.
Strengthened the UG & PG Courses (Curriculum) by implementing Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) at SVU and its affiliated colleges.
University implemented automation in the Examination Branch.
S.V.U. College of Engineering awarded with NBA Accreditation First time for B.Tech Course. B.Tech Degree Programme in collaboration with Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden) is being offered from the Academic year 2017-2018.
