Prof. D. Krishnamoorthy has been serving in the Department of Economics, Sri Venkatewara University, Tirupati since 2014. Prior to this, he worked as Professor in the Department of Econometrics since 2009 till 2014. He was the Head of the Department of Econometrics during 2011-2013 and served as the Chairperson of the Board of Studies in the Department of Econometrics during 2013-2016. He started his career as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at Sri Venkateswara University Post-Graduate Centre, Kavali from 1992 to 2007. He served as the Head of the Department of Economics during 2005-2007 and was transferred to the main campus in 2007. His research areas are macroeconomics, International Economics and Gender Economics. He taught several courses including international economics, Quantitative Methods, Economics of Development, Macroeconomics, Probability and Statistics to the post Graduate students of Economics and Computer Applications. He has total teaching experience of 30 years. Under his guidance 8 Ph.D., degrees and 8 M. Phil., Degrees were awarded and 7 students are working for Ph.D. He published 12 books and 67 research papers in national and international journals as well as in edited volumes. He attended more than 130 national and international seminars, conferences and workshops. He successfully completed three minor and major research projects. He served or has been serving as the external member of Board of Studies of Economics/Econometrics of Central University of Hyderabad, Central University of Karnataka, University of Madras, Chennai, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, Tirupati, Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore, YSR College of Engineering, Yogi Vemana University, Proddatur. He served as the Expert Committee member for revision of UG syllabus in Andhra Pradesh and also in Committees constituted by the A. P. State Council of Higher Education, Tadepalle. He is the life member of Indian Economics Association and organized its 99th Annual Conference as local Organizing Secretary in Tirupati. He is also the life member of Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi, A. P. Economic Association and Rayalaseema Economic Association and served as the office bearers of these organizations.

Krishnamoorthy was awarded UGC Junior Research Fellowship in 1986 and did his Ph.D. with UGC Junior and Senior Research Fellowships.
Prof. D. Krishnamoorthy is a widely known professor in all the Southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharastra and Gujarat. He served as the Selection Committee member for the selection of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in Uttarkhand Open University, Kerala University, Trivandrum, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgona. He has adjudicated more than 120 theses of Economics from all the Southern states. He is the resource person for several Distant Education Centers of Universities in Telengana and Andhra Pradesh. He wrote course 15 course materials for the Distance education centres of various universities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He has been assigned confidential works by A. P. Public Service Commission and by the Member Secretaries of State Level Eligibility Tests of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat.
