Dr. B.Madhusudana Reddy, hails from Mallela village, Thonduru Mandal of YSR Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh. He did his M.Tech. (Structural Engineering) and Ph.D in Civil Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. Before he joined as Assistant Professor, in the department of Civil Engineering, SVUCE in the year 2007 July, he had ‘14’ years of experience as Civil Engineer in the fields of Execution as well as Structural Designs. At the beginning of his career, he worked in the private firms as Site Engineer for about ‘6’ years. Then he got selection as an ‘Assistant Executive Engineer’ in the Engineering Dept. of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh in the year 1999. He worked there for ‘8’ years. During this period, he worked as designs Engineer in the designs wing of the organization for ‘6’ years. He has designed number of structures ranging from Residential, Amenities Complexes, Temple Structures, Hostel Buildings, College Buildings, Function Halls, Industrial Structures etc. The designs include Earthquake and Wind resistant, based on the topography where the respective structure was constructed.
Later, he turned his profession in to teaching because of his passion over the profession. He joined as Assistant Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering in Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in July-2007. Since then, being a faculty, besides teaching for UGs and PGs in Structural Engineering subjects, he actively involved in the departmental consultancy too. Wherein, he looks after testing of construction materials, Concrete Mix designs and Health assessment of aged and doubtful structures. He is associated in proof checking of the designs of several structures pertaining to public and private sectors and High raised structures coming up in Tirupati, a smart city. He is the member of departmental quality control team which acts as 3rd party QC checks for various Govt. on-going projects in the southern part of A.P. He has acted as a resource person for the training programs of employees of various Govt. departments and also involved in the programs for dissemination of research outcomes among the construction industry personnel.
His research interests cover economical Design of RCC and Steel structures, innovating construction materials and their utilization for Repair, Retrofitting and Rehabilitation of structures.
