The University Computer Centre is established during the year 1984, with the objects to provide services to the Students, Staff and Research Scholars of the University. In the University, Computer Centre occupies a Prime Position. It is an active academic place, providing computational requirements for the entire University community and a place for Software Developmental activities. It is a nucleus of Internet services.

Computerisation and Networking Administration

The S.V.U. Computer Centre acts like a hub that provides Computing facilities for the academicians, administration of the University, various hardware and softwares, Internet services, online examination support, LAN /VAN and Wi-Fi support to the students, Postgraduate | Research Scholars | Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of varoius departments of the University.

In addition to its regular services, Computer Centre organizes, conducts, provides various practical training for students of SVU Campus and also organizes the computer hardware and software certification programs time to time for the Student Community. The Computer Centre is a strong point of contact for the entire University Technology eco system for all constituents, as the usage of technology continues to grow multi folded.

Nearly 808 computer systems spread over all the departments, laboratories, research stations, Library, and Administrative office of SV University which are connected through the Campus Wide Network. This is exclusively used for academic activities like video conferencing and data processing activities like student feedback, conducting online classes.

Computer Centre Conducts Courses on Programming Languages and problem-solving techniques along with external partner organisations, Lab facility is made available during working hours as per the student’s ID based on first come first serve basis.

The Computer Centre Staff is coordinating and providing network connectivity to all the departments by assigning IP Address and configuring the computer systems. They also attend all the service calls in connection with internet operations at SVU Campus. Approximately around 833 internet service calls were attended during June 2018 to April 2022.

S.V.University Computer Centre vision is to provide cost effective, state of the art, structured strategic solutions to strengthen the IT requirements and networking of administration.

Mission :

The Mission of the computer centre has to accomplish best and secured back bone connectivity to the entire University and give hassle free computing services for teaching, nonteaching and students community in the campus.

Highlights of Computer Center Contributions to University:

Payroll Management System developed and in usage:

Developed software for Finance & Accounts Branch Single Point Payroll System for the S V University Employees and is in usage by the administrative staff.
Generates the complete list of employees /staff
Generates Payroll for every month and also generates pay slips for every employee.
Payroll System generates reports for various deductions such as GPF, GIS, LIC, PT, Association, Co-operative Stores, Credit Society
Generates various Loan reports.
Manages Pensioners salaries
Generates Yearly GPF statement for every employee

Software for Examination Management System

The Computer Centre is maintaining the Software of students examination management system in the Examination Branch.
The Software is developed for Professional Courses, Graduate Courses, and Under Graduate Courses in the S.V.University.
The developed software generates Question Paper slips for various centers of examinations.
The Software generates year wise Marks Statement for all Courses in the University.
Generates Provisional Certificates and Consolidated Mark Statements for various Courses of SV University.
Software is developed for CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) pattern for all Undergraduate Courses under S.V.University area and it is under usage.
We are working with technology upgradation also.

MAINTENANCE AND UPDATING THE WEBSITE AND E-GOVERNANCE INITIATIVES

The Computer Centre Staff are supporting the On-Line Counselling Centre operations at S.V.University for admissions under the control of A.P. State Council of Higher Education. The SVU Computer Centre is providing 1 GBPS Internet Service through BSNL under National Knowledge Network. Computer Centre is also providing additional 100 Mbps internet service from BSNL Ltd (Govt. of India Organization) to share the load in the Campus for smooth functioning of Internet operations.
