About
Dr. P. Jacob Doss is a Professor in Zoology, S.V.University, Tirupati. He is specialized in Arachnid Neurobiology; Neurotoxicology and Neuroethology. Successfully guided 29 Ph.D’s, and 11 M.Phil’s. He was awarded FIPS Travel Grant to Malaysia in 2002.Completed 4 UGC Projects, Published 80 papers, and written 2 books on one Scorpions, and another book on Snake Biology. Made significant contributions in neurobiology and behavior in the black Scorpion, Heterometrus fulvipes, by identifying different Sensory and Motor neurons in the Central Nervous System with cobalt chloride back filling technique. Currently he is actively involved in Pesticide toxicology, their biotransformation, detoxification mechanism and histopathology with Light and Scanning Electron Microscopy in a mammalian model. Presently working with Pharmacology of drugs, therapeutic treatment of pesticide poisoning and rational use of antidote treatments in clinical investigations. He is the member of Institutional Animal Ethical Committee, Dravidian University, Kuppam, He is one of the members in Board of Studies in Zoology in Bangaloore University and Gulberga University, Andhra University, Osmania University, Kakataiya University, Pondicherry University, Krishna University and Vikramasimha puri University. He was Coordinator to Bioinformatic and DST-FIST and Deputy Coordinator to UGC-SAAP. He also served as Deputy warden and warden for S.V.U. Hostel for Men. Presently he is the Coordinator DDE, Zoology and continuing as a Head, Department of Zoology for second Time. He is the member for Thesis evaluation committee and also for Local Purchasing Committee.
