As per 1986 New Education Policy (NEP) under the centrally sponsored scheme of “Teacher Education” by the Ministry of Human Development (MHRD), Govt. of India during IX plan, the Institute of Advanced Study in Education (IASE) S. V. University was established in 1998. The main purpose of establishing IASE is to uplift the department of Education as IASE, to improve the quality of Teacher Education & Secondary Education. To achieve the above objectives, IASE S.V.University conducted 5 pre-service batches with efficient training, 30 in-service training Programmes for Secondary School teacher (covered 3000 Teachers), 6 workshops in secondary school curriculum, 3 workshops on Guidance & Counseling at Intermediate level, Intel Maste Programme for Teacher Educators, Information technology Literacy Programme for Teacher Educators at Tirupati, Kurnool, Anantapur and Extension Programmes.

The Principal of the IASE is ably assisted by sixteen faculty members in teaching, research and extension work.

So far, three research projects have been completed and 12 seminars/ workshop have organized. 132 research papers and 25 books were published. The HRD Ministry sanctioned a grant of Rs.1.5 lakhs for further research in the institute.
